Wedding welcome parties in Leesburg

Give the wedding weekend a generous beginning.

A wedding welcome party has a different job from the rehearsal dinner. It brings a wider circle together, often as travelers arrive at different times, and helps people recognize friendly faces before the ceremony. Falcon & Fig offers a wine-led Mediterranean setting where movement, introductions, and shared food feel natural.

For couples hosting guests from Middleburg, Northern Virginia, and the greater Washington, DC area, our location at the Village at Leesburg creates an easy gathering point. The evening can be relaxed and open while still feeling intentional, with food that gives guests something to discover as they reconnect.

A flexible gathering for arriving guests

Welcome parties often include extended family, college friends, neighbors, and out-of-town guests who may not attend the rehearsal itself. Arrival is rarely perfectly synchronized, so the room needs to work for early guests, later travelers, and people moving between conversations. A clear welcome point and a menu available across the planned service window help everyone settle in.

The patio seats up to 80 and can support an open, social evening in suitable weather. The main dining hall seats up to 62, and the booth section seats up to 28 for a smaller guest list. Both the hall and patio hold more for a standing cocktail reception, but we do not publish a cocktail capacity until the layout, service plan, and accessibility needs are known.

A buffet supports movement and staggered arrivals

The open-buffet package begins at $60 per guest and is usually the most adaptable choice for a welcome party. Guests can greet the couple, find a drink, and build a plate without waiting for every traveler to arrive. A family tapas-style dinner, beginning at $64 per guest, is a better fit when the welcome party is smaller and the host wants everyone seated together.

One sample buffet direction draws from Muhammara, Patata Brava, Brussels Sprouts, Chicken Pintxo, Fish a la Plancha, and Churro. The combination offers bright spreads, vegetables, familiar proteins, and a celebratory finish. Final selections are confirmed through the event package and may change with season and availability.

Plan for travel rather than one exact arrival minute

Tell us the hotel areas, invitation window, expected peak arrival, and whether the event follows another wedding activity. A signed agreement and 25% deposit reserve the date. Signature cocktail requests are due at least 14 days ahead. Confirm the guest guarantee, menu, dietary needs, and selected linens 10 days before the party, with the final balance due no later than three days before the event.

If guests will come and go, make that expectation clear in the invitation and inquiry. We can then discuss whether the food should open at once or after a short welcome period, where gifts or name tags might sit, and how to avoid placing a greeting line in the path of servers.

Questions for this occasion

Plan with the details in view.

Is a welcome party the same as a rehearsal dinner?

Not necessarily. A welcome party often includes a wider guest list and a looser arrival pattern. A rehearsal dinner is commonly smaller, seated, and centered on the wedding party and close family.

Can guests mingle instead of having assigned seats?

Yes. An open buffet and reception-style plan can support mingling. The exact table and standing arrangement is confirmed after the guest count and service requirements are known.

Can Falcon & Fig plan a signature cocktail?

Yes, when requested at least 14 days ahead. Specialty ingredients may add $5 per guest age 21 and older, and the written proposal will confirm the selection and price.
